Colonial YFS is a not-for-profit community-based youth and family agency located in Moriches, NY. Our origins are in a grassroots movement which was encouraged and assisted by residents, school officials, and the Suffolk County Youth Bureau back in 1970. A countywide needs assessment by the Youth Bureau culminated in the agency being incorporated as a private, non-profit organization in 1973 with initial funding from the Suffolk County Youth Bureau. Originally developed to serve the William Floyd School District, which encompasses the hamlets of Mastic, Mastic Beach, Shirley, and the Moriches, Colonial’s incorporation now enables us to offer services throughout Suffolk County.

Colonial is a comprehensive human service organization, provides individual, group, and family counseling, information and necessary referrals to other community agencies, an extensive child care program, summer camp, youth volunteer opportunities and family assistance for those in need of emergency services such as food, fuel, electricity, clothing, school supplies, etc.
